The intervention

Well, A couple weeks ago I had an intervention by my friends. They decided I was doing too many things and that I needed to shelve most of them to concentrate on a few good ones. They all agreed I should keep writing...

So I shelved several little projects and decided to concentrate on 4 big ones:
My thesis paper
My new web site for my thesis paper
My book (well actually finish one before writing the others)
My knife making hobby

That put several things on the shelf. I have to admit, I've been quite productive on #1 and #2. #2 is about finished and I want to work on #3 pretty hard core.

My friend, and fellow writer http://alifewriting.blogspot.com/ has been pushing me to do a 300 WPD (Words per Day) minimum. And in actuality that isn't much...unless it's competing with #1 and #2. But wait you say....You should still be able to knock our 300 words a day even with the other two.

Yes, in fact I've almost done that in this post BUT, I tend to obsess a bit. I've done wonders on my new web site, and I've sumitted a paper to a conference for my thesis.... but I've been doing those to the exclusion of writing.

So here we go again. I'm going to concentrate on writing this first book. It's the easiest to write of the books I've started. So I'm going to do it.

I'll post how it goes here more as diciplinary action for me than anything else. Well, I actually maintain two other blogs, but if you're interested in writing as a career or serious hobby, you won't find those other blogs very interesting at all. :-)

Hi Cravon!

Found you via Ozwriter. I spend way to much time going from blog to blog when I should be finishing my book so I can start on another one...I've always got more than one thing going.

I'm curious...what's your thesis paper on? It's a million years since I've had to do anything like that I'm dabbling in the idea of going back to school to get my Masters/PhD but hell, I've got kids to put through college, so maybe not.

Keep writing, everyday, don't ever give up. Look at what Ozwriter accomplished! You can do it.

Don't mind Cravon not replying. He's probably already forgotten that he actually started this blog...

Get out of the shadows and go smack some sense into Cravon. I don't like to be ignored! Snort.
